Kylian Mbappé overtakes Mo Salah & Thierry Henry with latest Real Madrid goal | OneFootball

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has on Tuesday broken his tie with a pair of altogether high-profile names when it comes to the Champions League history books.

This comes owing to his exploits against Manchester City.

Real are of course currently locked in action on the continent, in a meeting with Pep Guardiola’s City at The Etihad.

It was the evening’s hosts who opened the scoring in the clash, upon Erling Haaland slotting beyond Thibaut Courtois from close range.

The aforementioned Mbappé, though, soon had his say, too.

After being played in over the top by Dani Ceballos, the Frenchman’s miskicked effort somehow managed to loop in at the far post.

And, owing to as much, Mbappé has now scored more goals in the Champions League than both Liverpool standout Mohamed Salah, and Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.

As revealed by StatMuse, the summer arrival in Madrid now has 52 goals to his name in Europe’s premiere club competition.
