Kylian Mbappé reaches 50 La Liga goals in 53 matches, behind Cristiano Ronaldo

Kylian Mbappé has scored his 50th La Liga goal for Real Madrid, reaching the milestone in only 53 matches.

The 27-year-old sealed it with a penalty in Saturday afternoon's 2-0 win over Levante. He is the second-fastest player of the 21st century to hit 50 in the competition, trailing Cristiano Ronaldo who did it in 51 matches.

By comparison, Mbappé needed 88 matches to reach 50 Ligue 1 goals across AS Monaco and PSG.

PSG's record scorer with 256 goals in 308 matches, he is following his idol but would need to accelerate if he is to one day reach Ronaldo's 450 for Real Madrid.

Mbappé has 74 goals in all competitions from 85 matches. Ronaldo compiled his 450 for Madrid in 438 matches between 2009 and 2018.
