La Liga president Javier Tebas has wasted no time in responding to Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti’s comments from earlier today.
During his press conference ahead of the derby against Atletico Madrid, Ancelotti made a remark directed at Tebas, who had lashed out at Real Madrid over the club’s statements regarding the refereeing system in the league.
Tebas had claimed that Real Madrid ‘have lost their minds’ and are trying to manipulate and pressurise referees with their statements and RMTV videos.
Responding to that, Ancelotti said: “Tebas has to be calm because no one has lost their head. It is simply a request for an explanation. From what I hear, no one is happy.
“Everyone believes that the system favours Madrid… and when Madrid wants to change the system, everyone is against it.”
Taking to his social media account, Tebas responded to Ancelotti, saying: “Carlo, stay calm… The Spanish competition is not adulterated, and we all want improvements in the organisation of refereeing, and we have been demanding them for some time.”
Not stopping at that, however, the La Liga president aimed a barb at Real Madrid, stating:
“It is curious that Real Madrid, so concerned now, was part of the Board of Directors of the RFEF until November 2023… and did not say a word.”
Tebas continued by noting: “By that time, months had passed since the ‘Negreira’ case was made public, yet in the meantime, Real Madrid TV continued to delight us with its ‘objective’ videos about referees.”
“Why was there no proposal either in the RFEF or in La Liga? The excuse of changing the ownership model and the supposed ‘expropriation’ of La Liga is no longer believed by anyone. Could this be another excuse? Because we have already seen this theory from some portaCoz,” he concluded.
