LaLiga has released the full 2026-27 fixture list, scheduling 380 top flight matches from 14 August to 30 May. According to AS, Barcelona begin their title defence against Athletic, while José Mourinho’s Real Madrid face Real Sociedad.
Calendar construction was coordinated by the federation, LaLiga and Liga F, replacing the old draw with a single cross competition plan. More than 400 conditions and club or institutional requests were factored in to avoid major clashes on the same day.
Promoted Racing, Deportivo and Málaga open against Villarreal, Elche and Atlético respectively. Several clubs, including Villarreal, Málaga and Real Sociedad, requested to start away and have been granted that. There is a risk that four to six opening round games could be postponed if squads have players in the World Cup’s final phase, with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético and Athletic among those who could be affected.
The Madrid derby arrives on 20 September at Atlético, with the return on 4 April. The first Clásico is on 25 October at Camp Nou, the Bernabéu hosts the return on 9 May. Valencia’s farewell season at Mestalla will conclude there against Elche.
There will be no Christmas football, with a break from 22 December to 2 January. International windows pause the league on 21 September to 6 October, 9 to 17 November and 22 to 30 March. Only two midweek rounds are scheduled, the 6th and 33rd.
