Lamine Yamal names Real Madrid star amongst most impressive performers at World Cup | OneFootball

Barcelona star Lamine Yamal was not shy in naming Real Madrid counterpart Vinícius Jr. as arguably the star performer of this summer’s World Cup to date.

This of course comes with the 25-year-old enjoying a return to top form on the international stage.

Across Brazil’s four fixtures en route to the Last-16 at the World Cup, Vinícius has racked up four goals and an assist. Not only that, but the winger has been hailed for his commitment and work rate off the ball.

Speaking during an interview with COPE, as cited by Fabrizio Romano, this week, the aforementioned Lamine Yamal therefore revealed his appreciation for Real Madrid’s attacking star.

The 18-year-old also highlighted Argentina talisman Lionel Messi and Morocco breakout star Ismael Saibari amongst his World Cup standout performers, explaining:

“Vini Jr for sure, then obviously there’s Messi… Then let me mention Ismael Saibari, he’s doing great for Morocco.”

Lamine, for his part, will be back in action in Spain’s colours on Thursday evening, in a World Cup Last-32 meeting with Austria.
