Frank Lampard has been named Manager of the Year in England after leading Coventry City back to the Premier League.
L'Équipe reports that the League Managers Association, which represents managers across the top four divisions, gave the award following Coventry’s Championship title.
He finished ahead of Unai Emery of Aston Villa, Andoni Iraola of Bournemouth, Pep Guardiola of Manchester City, Michael Skubala of Lincoln City in League One, and Mikel Arteta of Arsenal, crowned in the Premier League.
He collected the prize from Three Lions manager Thomas Tuchel, who read on stage a letter from Sir Alex Ferguson praising Coventry’s football this season and wishing them good luck in the Premier League.
After unsuccessful spells at Chelsea and Everton, Lampard has taken Coventry back to the top flight for the first time since 2001.
The Bantams finished nine points clear of runners-up Ipswich, scored 97 goals in 46 matches and conceded 45, the division’s best attack and defence.
