Up to eight FC Barcelona players were part of the Spanish national team that won the FIFA World Cup 2026, and this was one of the reasons why the Blaugrana president Joan Laporta decided to travel to the United States. In the USA, he supported these players as they fought to bring the second World Cup to Spain, while facing France in the semi-final and Lionel Messi’s Argentina in the final.

This tour meant a suspension of the various transfer operations that are underway at the Catalan club. However, the top Barcelona official returned to the Catalan capital on Tuesday, and thus, work on these operations can now resume.

One of the cases that Laporta will have to address immediately is that of Karim Adeyemi’s signing, as this operation is already in its very last stages. The German forward successfully completed his medical a few days ago, and now, only the last few steps are needed to complete his signing.

As SPORT has reported, the Barcelona president answered some questions from the media as he arrived at the Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport, and in this appearance, confirmed that: “He [Karim Adeyemi] will be presented tomorrow”.

While this operation is as good as completed, there are some other files that Laporta and Deco, who was also in the USA for the latter part of the World Cup, will have to address in the coming days. One of these will be for the departure of Marc-Andre ter Stegen to Ajax on loan, while the departures of Roony Bardghji and Marc Casado will also have to be addressed.

As far as Julian Alvarez is concerned, Barcelona are now reportedly going to wait for the player to once again go on the offensive against his current club, Atletico Madrid, before making a move for him.
