Lars Ricken confirms duo will leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer | OneFootball

Niklas Süle and Salih Özcan will leave Borussia Dortmund when their contracts expire this summer.

This was confirmed by BVB managing director for sport Lars Ricken on Friday in an interview with Ruhr Nachrichten.

“We had very open and appreciative conversations with both of them this week. In the end, we mutually agreed with both Niklas and Salih to go separate ways at the end of the season,” Ricken said, adding:

“But until then, nine games still await us, which we want to play as successfully as possible together and, once again this year, qualify for the Champions League.”

Süle, 30, joined Dortmund on a free transfer from FC Bayern Munich in 2022 and has since played 108 games for the club.

Özcan, 28, was signed from 1. FC Köln in 2022 and has since featured 92 times for BVB.
