Well it’s official. Silly season is well and truly upon us but most of the bad links have faded amid Rangers’ transfer targets.

That is to say, the targets we were supposedly looking at like Josh Windass and James Penrice faded, and more credible talent is coming to the fire.

Ibrox Noise now offers everything we have on all players Rangers have been credibly linked with moves for:

Tuur Rommens:

Belgian left back, Rangers went for this lad after Penrice said no. And one look at his CV shows we’ve got the much better deal. This one is due to be announced imminently but we’ll await the scarf above his head.

Tochi Chukwuani:

Another one that’s due to be confirmed soon, Chuckwuani looks a real dynamo of a midfielder. He’s a 6, a Barry Ferguson type and Rangers may have pulled off a killer getting him. We’ll be cautious till he’s announced, but this is a real coup if we get him.

Kieron Bowie:

Rangers are confirmed as having registered an interest in the Scotland striker. But as you’ll see from our previous entry, Ibrox Noise is not in favour of this boy. And certainly not at £6.5M. He’s a decent striker but no more. Maybe a £2M type of forward. More than Danilo cost? No thank you.

Dan Neil:

Another midfielder, Neil is really just a Championship player rather than a PL one. He is at Sunderland, is 24, and hasn’t really been given a sniff of action since their promotion. He’s worth around £6M and it would be a loan, but interest in him surfaced after Connor Barron’s injury. Rangers have lost our dynamo grafter for up to 3 months if not longer and he needs replaced.

Romaine Mundle:

Another loan, and also a PL one, Mundle is a decent winger but at 22 isn’t deemed up to the level to really affirm himself in England’s top flight. Has spent most of his career in the PL2, which is basically the youth league of the top flight. Did get European experience with Spurs in the Youth League. Interest in him suggests Rangers are done with the abysmal Djeidi Gassama, who we hope is on his way out.

Josh Windass:

Despite Wrexham’s belting result v Forest yesterday, this trail went totally cold. It was legitimate information, but thankfully didn’t materialise into a signing. It looks like Windass is happy where he is, and we’re even happier at Ibrox Noise about that.

James Penrice:

Turned us down, as we said before, and we (appear) to have ended up with Tuur Rommens instead. Not a bad LB but nowhere near the level Rangers need, and is barely any better than Jayden Meghoma. We’re glad this one fell through.

And that’s a few of them for now, we may have overlooked one or two of Rangers’ transfer targets.
