Lazio stand to profit if Burnley complete the sale of Loum Tchaouna to Coventry City, with a sell-on clause set to pay out.
Fabrizio Romano reports the 22-year-old is set to join newly promoted Coventry City, with the Sky Blues to pay about £20 million at Frank Lampard's request, keeping him in the Premier League for another season.
Tchaouna broke through at Salernitana in 2023/24, prompting Lazio to spend about €9 million in summer 2024. Under Marco Baroni he registered two goals and one assist in 37 appearances.
He then moved to Burnley for €13 million last summer, but produced two goals and one assist in 29 Premier League outings as the Clarets were relegated to the Championship.
La Lazio Siamo Noi reports Lazio inserted a 10% sell-on, meaning they are due about £2 million, roughly €2.4 million, from Coventry's purchase.
That sum could offer a timely boost for the financially struggling club, who have been operating a net-zero transfer market and can only reinvest funds raised from departures.
