Lazio’s injury problems have deepened after goalkeeper Alessio Furlanetto underwent surgery on a torn anterior cruciate ligament, while Gustav Isaksen could also need an operation.
According to LaLazioSiamoNoi, the Denmark international will require surgery to address a long-standing groin inflammation after conservative treatment failed.
Furlanetto had injured the same knee in April and was operated on in Rome today. Tests determined ligament reconstruction was needed in the right knee, with no further treatment for the meniscus.
He is expected to be sidelined for four to five months. Ivan Provedel is not due back until late August after a serious shoulder injury in March.
If Isaksen goes under the knife, he would become the fourth Biancocelesti player to need an operation for the same issue in the past 12 months. Mattia Zaccagni, Niccolò Rovella and Danilo Cataldi have already undergone procedures.
