Alfredo Pedullà reports that Lazio and Hellas Verona are in talks over a swap involving Reda Belahyane and Giovane. He adds the clubs opened direct dialogue on Sunday and that a deal could emerge next week.
Pedullà says Lazio have tracked the Brazilian forward since the start of the month after eye-catching displays at the Bentegodi following his arrival last summer. The 22-year-old can operate across the front line, a profile Maurizio Sarri could use.
Giovane had been strongly linked with Atalanta in recent days. The Bergamo club instead moved for Giacomo Raspadori, also of interest to Roma and Lazio, which could leave the Biancocelesti well placed.
The clubs often do business together. Lazio have previously signed Mattia Zaccagni, Matteo Cancellieri and Nicolo Casale from Verona. Belahyane only joined Lazio this season and has struggled to convince Sarri, so a return to Verona is possible.
Sky Sport Italia reports there is mutual interest in a swap. Damiano Er Faina adds that Lazio have proposed Belahyane plus €10 million and bonuses for Giovane, with Verona valuing him at €25 million. Further developments are expected in the coming hours.
