Lazio are considering a move for AC Milan midfielder Yunus Musah, with a loan plus option being explored, Il Corriere dello Sport reports. The proposal is said to be a €two million loan and a €18 million option that would become an obligation if they qualify for Europe.

At his unveiling, new coach Gennaro Gattuso named the attack and backline as early market priorities. Even so, Lazio also chased Jonathan Asp Jensen for the No 10 role, but he joined Deportivo La Coruña.

Musah is not a classic playmaker, yet his versatility appeals. The 23-year-old is a box-to-box midfielder who can operate higher up or out wide.

An Arsenal academy graduate, he broke through at Valencia before moving to Milan in 2023. Amid frequent coaching changes, he slipped down the pecking order and left for Atalanta last summer.

In Bergamo, after Gian Piero Gasperini’s exit, he arrived under Ivan Juric, then struggled to fit Raffaele Palladino’s plans. He has returned to Milanello and remains under contract until June 2028.

President Claudio Lotito favours this approach, used in January to sign Daniel Maldini from Atalanta, as it boosts the squad without long-term commitments. It also fits a campaign where a top six or seven finish is in doubt.
