LD Alajuelense retakes top spot in Central America in latest Concacaf Club Rankings

MIAMI – Two-time defending Central American Cup winners LD Alajuelense returned to a third final to become the highest-ranked nation from Central America in the latest Concacaf Club Rankings (CCR).
The Concacaf Club Rankings Index grades all clubs and leagues across the confederation. Teams gain points for results in official domestic league matches, regional cup matches, and Concacaf Champions Cup play.

Here are the top stories from the recent moves.
Inter Miami, Tigres and Seattle climb spots in the Top 10
Reigning Concacaf Champions Cup winners Cruz Azul (1,264) and Liga MX championsDeportivo Toluca FC (1,249) continue to lead the top of the rankings as first and second, respectively.
Inter Miami CF (1,242) rose to third place to leapfrog Club América (1,240), who fell to fourth. Jumping to fifth place is Tigres UANL (1,236) followed by Vancouver Whitecaps FC(1,231), Columbus Crew (1,224), and Los Angeles FC (1,223) placing sixth to eight, respectively.
Seattle Sounders FC (1,217) rose to ninth place, while CF Monterrey (1,213) dropped to tenth.
LD Alajuelense retakes top spot in Central America after eight months
LD Alajuelense (1,168) climbed nine spots after reaching the Central American Cup Final to become the highest ranked Central American team at #29 overall.
CD Olimpia (1,154) dropped to second in the subregion, moving down to 36th overall. #46 Deportivo Saprissa (1,136), #50 CS Herediano (1,129) and #52 CSD Municipal (1,128) complete the top five.

Mount Pleasant remains at the top of the Caribbean
Mount Pleasant FA (1,078) retained the top spot in the Caribbean, occupying the 68th overall position, after reaching the Caribbean Cup Final.
Cibao FC (1,055), Cavalier FC (1,036), Defence Force FC (1,035), and SV Robinhood(1,027) complete the top five.

LA Firpo climbs 11 spots after consecutive wins in their domestic league
The biggest mover of the month was iconic Salvadoran club CD Luis Ángel Firpo (1,059), improving 11 spots to 84th overall.
The next most improved clubs were LD Alajuelense and Club Atlético Independiente (1,073),rising nine spots each, with the latter moving up to 71st.
San Diego FC (1,171), 26th overall, and CD Águila (1,049), 94th overall, each improved eight spots to round out the top five.
Sporting SM defeated Plaza Amador and qualified for the Champions Cup
The biggest upset of the month came from the 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup Play-In Round as #66 Sporting San Miguelito defeated #55 CD Plaza Amador 3-2 in the second leg of their series.
Sporting also won the first leg 1-nil, winning 4-2 on aggregate, to secure a berth in the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup.
