Leeds United host relegated Burnley at Elland Road on Friday as they look to edge closer to Premier League safety. Daniel Farke’s side hit the 40-point mark with a dramatic 2-2 draw at Bournemouth last week but likely still need another win.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds will be without at least two first-team players. Ilia Gruev’s season ended last week and Gabriel Gudmundsson has a hamstring problem that rules him out of at least the next two games. There is concern over two other key players, although Anton Stach has recently returned.
Burnley captain Josh Cullen remains sidelined after anterior cruciate ligament surgery in December, with several months of recovery still ahead. Jordan Beyer is also out following a meniscus injury against Luton in October 2023 and a subsequent hamstring issue last summer, with no imminent return.
Connor Roberts has missed the season with an Achilles injury, having only recently begun early-stage recovery, and he remained unavailable last week.
Zeki Amdouni, who suffered an ACL injury in the summer, is back in training and could feature before the season ends. Hannibal Mejbri has been out with a hamstring issue since last month’s 3-1 defeat at Fulham, with a return against Manchester City deemed unlikely last week, though involvement at Elland Road was considered possible. Axel Tuanzebe has been absent since February with an Achilles problem, despite appearing for DR Congo in March, and the exact issue and its severity remain unclear.
