Leeds United’s fightback at Chelsea and late drama elsewhere delivered a double boost in their survival bid, with West Ham denied at the death.
Leeds trailed 2-0 at Chelsea on Tuesday night but fought back to draw 2-2. According to yorkshireevenpost.co.uk, the point proved even more valuable as results elsewhere turned.
Spurs, who began the night level on points with fifth-bottom Leeds, lost 2-1 at home to Newcastle, allowing Farke’s side to climb to 15th.
There was further drama in the 8.15pm kick-off at the London Stadium. Third-bottom West Ham led Manchester United through Tomas Soucek’s close-range finish on 50 minutes. Benjamin Sesko levelled in the 96th minute, finishing a Bryan Mbeumo cross for 1-1.
The results leave Leeds six points clear of the drop zone. They are also one point and a place above Tottenham after 26 games.
