Daniel Farke says Leeds duo Anton Stach and Joe Rodon are likely to be out until next month with ankle injuries.

It comes as a blow for Leeds, who face Manchester United on Monday and will also be without Daniel James for the game against his former club.

Jaka Bijol, Gabriel Gudmundsson and Noah Okafor could also miss the clash, Farke revealed.

“Not the best news today,” the Leeds boss said. “Anton Stach will definitely miss the game on Monday, an ankle injury.

“Also Joe Rodon will miss the game on Monday, also with an ankle injury for him.

“Daniel James will also miss the game because of an adductor strain in the session just before the cup game. He won’t be available.

“A few more question marks. Jaka Bijol is currently struggling with a knock and has not been in team training yet during this week.

“Noah Okafor today was not in team training, he’s struggling with some back problems. Also a question mark behind his availability.

“Gudmundsson has made some progress. He came back with a light groin problem after the international games. He’s making light progress.

“But all three of them are doubts. If we would play the game tomorrow then all three wouldn’t be available. Thankfully the game is on Monday so we have a bit more time and I’m hopeful that I have three of them ready for the game because we need our players ready for this game.”

Asked about a potential timeframe for Stach and Rodon to return, Farke said: “It’s difficult to say. Obviously a ligament injury in the ankle, the same for Rodon, normally you would say that it’s not realistic for both of them to be able to help us in April and we’ll have them back in May.

“But of course our medical department is trying everything. It’s the crunch period of the season, of course you want to have these players back as soon as possible.

“We will try step by step, day by day to improve the situation and if they could feature at some point in April, it would be a bonus, but realistically we will see them back in May.”
