Leeds given Premier League boost as Bournemouth win lifts them to 14th | OneFootball

Leeds United moved back up to 14th in the Premier League without kicking a ball, courtesy of Bournemouth’s win over Crystal Palace.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the result delivered a timely lift and a change of position for Leeds.

On Friday night Leeds beat already relegated Burnley 3-1 at home. The victory opened a nine-point cushion on third-bottom Tottenham Hotspur and lifted them above Newcastle United into 14th.

Newcastle then reclaimed the spot with a 3-1 home win over Palace on Saturday afternoon. Leeds dropped to 15th but were level on points with Palace, who fell below the Magpies into 14th.

Palace began Sunday only two goals better off on goal difference before visiting the Vitality Stadium. Bournemouth continued their strong run with a 3-0 victory, a result that put Leeds above Palace on goal difference and back into 14th.
