Max Wober has finally got his season up and running, the Leeds United loanee making a belated top-flight bow as the club’s borrowed contingent experience mixed fortunes.

The Austrian had not played a minute of 2025/26 league football for Werder Bremen due to two injuries. After a hamstring problem sidelined him for 14 consecutive fixtures, he was an unused substitute once, then missed another 14 with a fresh issue. He returned on Sunday with a 25-minute cameo against Stuttgart, and the player said in a post that he had waited a long time for the moment.

Werder are 12th in the 18-team Bundesliga, with fixtures against Freiburg, Bayern Munich and St Pauli still to come.

Elsewhere, Mateo Joseph’s loan at Mallorca has ended early after an ACL injury. Beforehand he started 19 league games and made 10 substitute appearances, scoring twice and supplying four assists for the relegation strugglers. Mallorca are one point and one place above the drop with five to play.

Largie Ramazani has timed his surge well at Valencia. He did not start before mid February, then began 10 in a row, scoring five goals in that run, with four contributing to wins that keep them five points clear of danger.

Wober joined Leeds in January 2023 on a four-and-a-half-year contract to summer 2027. He activated a loan clause after relegation in 2023 to join Borussia Mönchengladbach, then returned last season but two knee surgeries limited him to eight league outings, only two starts. He has made 28 appearances for Leeds in total, and a summer exit feels inevitable.
