Leeds rivals round-up: Redknapp on Spurs, West Ham and Sunderland ‘eye’ Zan Vipotnik | OneFootball

Leeds United nudged closer to Premier League safety with a 1-1 draw at Aston Villa on Saturday. They are six points clear after two defeats in 14 league games, taking 20 points compared with 11 from their first 13.

Tottenham Hotspur sit two points and one place below Leeds. A 4-1 home loss to Arsenal on Sunday left them four points above the drop, with two wins in 19 and 10 defeats. It was Igor Tudor’s first match in charge.

Harry Redknapp said he would have loved to return to help Spurs and called Tudor’s appointment a gamble, given he has not managed in England. He felt Tudor was not to blame for the derby and said Arsenal looked a different class, adding he thinks they will win the title with Manchester City chasing.

Leeds have goals in Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha, 16 between them despite costing nothing. According to SportsBoom, West Ham and Sunderland are eyeing Zan Vipotnik, who joined Swansea from Bordeaux for £2m in 2024 and leads the Championship with 16 in 31, plus two in four EFL Cup games.

SportsBoom adds the 23-year-old is valued at £15m. West Ham signed Valentin Castellanos and Pablo in January, while Sunderland remain among the lowest scorers with Brian Brobbey their only player on five.

TEAMtalk report that Ben White could be forced out of Arsenal if the club move for Sporting CP’s Ivan Fresneda to compete with Jurrien Timber. Injuries have limited him to 24 league appearances since last season began, after a 2019/20 Leeds loan of 46 outings, one goal and two assists.
