Leeds United prospect Harry Gray is closing in on a season-long loan to Sheffield Wednesday in League One. This would reunite the 17-year-old with ex-Leeds captain Liam Cooper.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Wednesday have won the race for the teenager, a deal between the clubs is close and the player is on board. The outlet understands there was no sell-on clause in brother Archie Gray’s move to Tottenham Hotspur, so any further transfer would not bring Leeds a windfall.

Gray gained his first run of senior football last season at Rotherham United. He made 20 appearances and scored three goals, but the Millers were relegated amid managerial upheaval and injuries across the squad.

Leeds always planned another loan for 2026/27 and chose League One again, with Huddersfield Town also keen. Gray will link up with Henrik Pedersen’s squad, already back in training, and aim to contribute to an expected promotion push.

Wednesday begin a new era under fresh ownership following relegation from the Championship. Cooper has signed a new deal at Hillsborough after his short-term stint last season brought 14 outings.

His older brother Archie, also a Thorp Arch academy product, is reportedly attracting interest from Newcastle United this summer, with Tottenham Hotspur said to have rejected an initial offer.
