Leeds United’s prospective Premier League XI for next season is outlined here, dependent on priority targets arriving after a 14th-place finish.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, chairman Paraag Marathe has set out plans to furnish Daniel Farke with first-team quality, with Harry Wilson signing a four-year deal following his Fulham exit 10 months after a collapsed deadline-day move. Following Pascal Struijk’s switch to Brighton, Leeds also took a major step towards finding his replacement on Tuesday night.
Leeds still require a clear number one and look to reinforce central midfield. A mooted XI places James Trafford in goal, with Leeds admiring the Manchester City goalkeeper. If he leaves, he could have several suitors, but he would be a major addition at Elland Road.
At centre-back, Joe Rodon features after a campaign in which only Ethan Ampadu logged more Premier League minutes. Jaka Bijol follows, having waited for his chance last season before impressing in a central defensive role and regularly overpowering opposing forwards.
Leeds have agreed a £34m deal for 23-year-old Sassuolo defender Tarik Muharemovic, who is on course to replace Struijk. He is a front-footed presence and a physical ‘monster’ at the back.
On the right, Jayden Bogle enjoyed an excellent top-flight season with Leeds, his 32 starts bettered by only three teammates. Competition remains needed across the squad, and this projection reflects targets in key positions if moves come off.
