Leeds United could target players from this season’s relegated Premier League sides as Daniel Farke looks to strengthen. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, nine options are highlighted across three clubs.

Leeds lost 3-0 at West Ham, all three goals after half-time, and, though a final-day win could have lifted them to 12th, they settled for 14th after two weeks of safety.

West Ham’s drop was confirmed by Tottenham Hotspur’s win over Everton, with talk of a clear-out to raise more than £150 million.

Mateus Fernandes, outstanding throughout with three goals and four assists from attacking midfield, is the obvious sale. Jarrod Bowen, nine goals and 11 assists, and centre-back Konstantinos Mavropanos could also match Leeds’ need for a left-footed right-winger and a left-sided defender.

With Pascal Struijk entering the final year of his deal, at least one left-footed centre-back is sought, and Burnley’s Maxime Esteve is an alternative. Midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu was among Burnley’s brighter performers after a move worth more than £20 million. Florentino Luis arrived on loan, and a roughly £20 million option suggests Benfica would sell the 26-year-old.

Wolves offer another left-footed centre-back in Ladislav Krejci, initially on loan from Girona and set to join permanently for about £26 million. Joao Gomes has been close to ever-present in midfield. A left wing-back is also on the list, with competition and cover needed for the brilliant Gabriel Gudmundsson.
