yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk notes that Leeds United’s Premier League survival bid has received another significant lift after a relegation rival slipped up.
On Friday night the Whites beat already-relegated Burnley 3-1 at home. That result put them nine points clear of third-bottom Tottenham Hotspur with four games left for Spurs.
West Ham were next in action on Saturday afternoon away to Brentford.
The Hammers had lost only one of their previous six Premier League matches. Brentford won 3-0, rising to sixth and leaving the Irons in danger of slipping into the relegation zone.
For Leeds, they now sit seven points clear of West Ham and both sides have three fixtures left. The Irons host title-chasing Arsenal next.
West Ham remain two points above third-bottom Tottenham Hotspur, but Spurs can move out of the drop zone and above the Irons with victory in their game in hand at Aston Villa on Sunday night.
