Leeds United are in talks to bring AJ Auxerre striker Lassine Sinayoko to the Elland Road club this summer, according to French outlet Foot Mercato.

Leeds manager Daniel Farke wants to bolster his attack and the Mali international is a concrete option for the Whites.

They are in discussions with Sinayoko and his agent but will face competition from Brighton & Hove Albion and clubs in France and Germany for his services.

The 26-year-old ‘complete striker’ bagged 12 league goals and four assists last term to help keep Auxerre up.

The Leeds target was in the top 10 of the most decisive players in Ligue 1 as a result, and a move to the Premier League could appeal to him.

Sinayoko is primarily a number 9, but he can also play on both wings and as a number 10, and his ability to contribute defensively is something Farke could do with in an attacker.

He was involved in 13 league goals in 2024-25, scoring five times and assisting eight goals in 34 league games.

Sinayoko has 11 goals in 31 caps for Mali and could be perfect for the Whites as they look to establish themselves as mainstays in the Premier League.

Leeds need their forwards to constantly track back and help out defensively, and the Auxerre star is perfect for their style of play given his tirelessness in acting as the first line of defence.

He is expected to leave the Ligue 1 club this summer and beating competition to his services will be a big boost for the West Yorkshire club.
