New reports out of Italy suggest Leeds United have opened talks regarding Napoli winger Noa Lang. The update comes via AreaNapoli. The outlet claims the West Yorkshire club reached out to see if the Dutchman is available. Lang joined the Serie A side from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2025, but he has had a rough six months in Naples.

Early friction with manager Antonio Conte limited his playing time at first. Even so, he started three of the last six league games lately. The Italian champions still seem ready to let the 26-year-old leave. They hope to bring in some cash for the January window by selling the Dutchman.

Competition for the 26-year-old is heating up. The report says VfL Wolfsburg and AS Monaco have also asked about him. Napoli’s stance is a big problem. They want a permanent move or a loan with a deal to buy him later.

Right now, they are rejecting simple loan offers. While Besiktas are interested too, his wages aren’t an issue for the European clubs involved. Leeds United now have to decide if they will pay what Napoli want to get the winger before the deadline.

Does Lang Fit Daniel Farke’s Premier League Survival Plan?

Daniel Farke needs more options up front to make sure Leeds United stay in the Premier League. The Whites have been looking for a versatile playmaker since the summer. Lang fits that mould perfectly. He can play on either wing or in the middle. This will provide Farke the tactical options he wants for his fluid 4-2-3-1 setup.

Lang has the skill to break down teams that sit deep and defend. Leeds lack this trait in many tight fixtures. His numbers at PSV showed he can score and move the ball forward well. These traits would really help the Leeds attack. Right now, the team lean a bit too much on counter-attacks.

However, the money side of this deal is risky. Napoli paid a lot for Lang just a few months ago. They will want to get most of that money back. Leeds have to balance this cost against their tight budget. On top of that, Lang’s reported spat with Conte makes people wonder about his attitude.

Farke has handled big personalities well before, though. If the 49ers ownership group puts up the money, Lang would be an instant upgrade. Still, with Monaco offering European football, talking the player into a relegation scrap at Elland Road might be the hardest part for the scouts.
