Leeds United remain interested in signing Union Berlin centre-back Danilho Doekhi, having attempted to sign him in the winter, according to the Daily Mail.
Manager Daniel Farke wants to bolster his defensive options ahead of next season, and the Dutchman remains on his radar.
Doekhi is a free agent at the end of the season, and the Whites are not the only club looking to sign him.
Borussia Dortmund also want the 27-year-old, but a move away from the German top-flight could appeal to the 6ft 3in star.
The Leeds target is arguably the most dangerous centre-back in the opposition’s penalty box.
He has bagged nine headed goals since his Bundesliga debut in 2022. Doekhi has scored 16 goals in 134 games for Berlin and could be a decent addition for Leeds.
They need a defender capable of influencing play at both ends of the pitch, and the former Netherlands youth international fits the bill.
They are almost guaranteed Premier League safety, having gone six points clear of the relegation zone heading into the final four games of the campaign.
Leeds face Burnley, Tottenham Hotspur, Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham United in their remaining fixtures.
Doekhi is not the only player the Whites are looking to sign on a free transfer in the coming weeks.
They are also keeping tabs on Sporting CP defensive midfielder Hidemasa Morita, having attempted to sign him last summer.
