Leeds United have left Lukas Nmecha on the bench against Manchester City, while Erling Haaland has not travelled to Elland Road.

Daniel Farke sets up in a three-four-two-one rather than the three-five-two used to good effect at the Etihad Stadium in November, despite Nmecha’s second half display alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the reverse fixture. According to Leeds Live, this is a more cautious approach.

Brenden Aaronson and Anton Stach operate behind Calvert-Lewin, with scope to switch into a three-four-three or drop into a five-four-one.

Ethan Ampadu partners Ilia Gruev in midfield. Jayden Bogle and Gabriel Gudmundsson are the wing-backs, the latter fit after the illness that forced him off at half-time against Aston Villa.

Karl Darlow starts as he targets a second clean sheet of the season tonight. Justin, Rodon and Struijk form the back three, with Bogle, Ampadu, Gruev and Gudmundsson across midfield, and Stach and Aaronson behind Calvert-Lewin.
