Leeds United player ratings as Whites lose 3-2 to Wrexham: £15m man gets 8, Joe Rodon struggles | OneFootball

Leeds United opened pre-season with a 3-2 defeat to Championship side Wrexham in Florida, with £15m midfielder Sean Longstaff top-scoring and Joe Rodon struggling.

As reported by Leedsunited.news, this was the first of three matches in the United States for Daniel Farke’s team, while Phil Parkinson’s side are further along in preparation. Farke blended regulars with teenagers such as Callum Mills.

Kieffer Moore scored after 30 seconds. Joel Piroe missed an early penalty but soon levelled, before Wrexham went 2-1 up. Longstaff made it 2-2 before the break, then Sam Smith struck late after an Ao Tanaka error.

Goalkeeper Alex Cairns was rated five. James Justin also received five after finishing the full match. Rodon was given four after mistakes for the first two goals, while Alfie Cresswell and Jayden Lienou earned six apiece.

Ethan Ampadu was handed six. Longstaff, the £15m man, took eight with a smart finish and an assist. Willy Gnonto, Mills and Dan James were given six, five and six respectively, and Piroe received five, with James winning the penalty.

From the bench, Harry Wilson impressed with seven. Jayden Bogle and Anton Stach took fives, Lukas Nmecha four, and Tanaka five. Keeper Lucas Perri came on at half-time and had little chance with the winner.
