Leeds United face West Ham in Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the 4.30pm tie at the London Stadium could include Gabi Gudmundsson after a one-game ban.
It is United’s first outing after the two-week March international break, with 12 players on senior duty.
They signed off with a goalless home draw against Brentford on Saturday, March 21, when Daniel Farke made one change as Jayden Bogle covered for the suspended Gudmundsson.
In goal, Lucas Perri seems likely. Karl Darlow started in the third round, but Perri then played the fourth and fifth rounds, starring in the shootout at Birmingham City.
At right wing back, the call is between Jayden Bogle and James Justin, with Willy Gnonto and Dan James used there in earlier rounds. Justin may be needed centrally, so Bogle feels the natural pick.
Justin could partner Jaka Bijol in a back three. The Leicester City recruit has been dependable and versatile, while Bijol has played every minute of the cup run.
If Joe Rodon stays on the bench again, the other slot might go to Pascal Struijk ahead of Sebastiaan Bornauw. Bornauw started against Norwich in the fifth round, came off at half-time, then was twice unused.
Gudmundsson, who helped Sweden book their place at this summer’s World Cup, is miles ahead as first-choice on the left. He started in rounds four and five and thrives on rhythm, though Justin, Gnonto, James or Sam Byram are alternatives.
