According to Sky Sports News, Leeds United have agreed personal terms with Tarik Muharemovic and reached a total agreement with Sassuolo, with the Bosnia & Herzegovina defender flying to England today for a medical.
The deal is said to be worth up to £34 million and, if completed, would make him the club’s second summer addition after Harry Wilson’s free transfer.
Muharemovic is viewed as the replacement for Pascal Struijk, who has left for Brighton & Hove Albion.
At 23, Leeds will hope he offers longevity and a higher peak than Struijk. It is unclear whether the move will be finalised before the squad depart for their US pre-season tour on Tuesday.
He featured in all but six of Sassuolo’s 38 Serie A matches last season as they finished 11th, having helped them to promotion the previous year.
