Leeds United have issued a fresh update on the Elland Road West Stand redevelopment, with demolition progressing and preparations under way for a new access corridor. The works are aimed at keeping the stadium operating at full capacity during the season. A memorial mural to Christopher Loftus and Kevin Speight has been removed with the approval of both families.
The club said in a statement that the ticket office and LUTV studio buildings have been demolished and a reduced level dig is starting, with piling to follow in the coming months.
The corridor is being constructed so the existing West Stand can remain open while a new stand is built above it. It will be divided into three routes for hospitality guests, home general admission fans and away supporters.
Demolition began with the West Stand Banqueting Suite. The old changing rooms in Fullerton Car Park, which carried the tribute mural and had been derelict since the move to Thorp Arch, have also been taken down.
A temporary hospitality facility behind the North Stand is due to be fitted out ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League season and will stay in place for the duration of the West Stand project.
The broadcast compound has been relocated from Fullerton Car Park to a site across the road from the North Stand.
