Leeds host Burnley at Elland Road on Friday at 8pm, with Scott Parker leaving the visitors on the eve of the match, handing Leeds a timely boost.
The club said in a statement that Parker had departed by mutual consent after relegation was confirmed last week, following discussions with the board.
Burnley added that during his time at Turf Moor he delivered a record 2024/25 campaign, taking promotion from the Championship with a 33-match unbeaten run and 30 clean sheets, and thanked him for his work.
Mike Jackson and the existing backroom staff will lead the side against Leeds and for the remainder of the season, with the search for a permanent head coach for 2026/27 now under way.
Burnley’s return to the top flight has been grim, their drop confirmed by a 1-0 defeat to Manchester City last Wednesday.
Leeds are 15th, six points above 18th-place Tottenham Hotspur, and Daniel Farke wants a strong finish starting on Friday. After Burnley, they visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday, 11 May, then host Brighton on Sunday, 17 May, before ending at West Ham United at the London Stadium a week later.
