Leeds United vs Brentford moved to Bank Holiday Sunday as Leeds Festival finale overlaps | OneFootball

Leeds United's first home match of 2026/27 will now be played on the August Bank Holiday Sunday, coinciding with the final day of Leeds Festival. Daniel Farke's side host Brentford at two pm on Sunday, 30 August at Elland Road.

West Yorkshire Police said it is highly experienced in policing major events and has plans in place for a busy Bank Holiday weekend, which also features the Leeds West Indian Carnival.

Both of Leeds' opening home fixtures, against Brentford and Newcastle United, have been rescheduled after being selected for live television.

The Brentford match had been set for Saturday, 29 August, but will now kick off at two pm on Sunday, 30 August.

The Newcastle United game is now scheduled for eight pm on Monday, 14 September, although the date and time could still change.

Brentford's visit is one of three Premier League games to be shown live on Sky Sports at two pm, alongside Chelsea vs Brighton and Sunderland vs Fulham.

Leeds Festival runs from Thursday, 27 August to Sunday, 30 August at Bramham Park, and significant delays are expected on routes including the A1(M) and A64 as crowds travel.
