Mirko Vucinic's talent is unforgettable and lives on in the minds of everyone who has had the opportunity to admire his often-unpredictable moves on the pitch. So unforgettable that he conquered the hearts of Juventus fans, who showed their appreciation and affection for him at the last match of the Champions League Phase at the Allianz Stadium. The affection that he began with when he recalled his past in Turin with us, which consisted of 96 appearances, 26 goals, 21 assists, 5 trophies and many other moments he will remember forever.

“Juventus and its fans are imprinted on my mind and heart. Coming back here has reawakened all the wonderful emotions I experienced at this club and in this stadium. We all know how important the fans are for the team, how much they can help the players at any time and also make the difference with the warmth of their support, which, I assure you, can be felt in a way that is complicated to describe.”

He spent three years wearing the Juventus jersey, from August 2011 when he became a Juventus player after previous experience in Italy with Lecce and Roma. And, a month later, also his joy at the first burst of jubilation from the fans, in one of the very first games at our (and his) new home.

“I'll never forget that first goal in the black and white jersey at home, at the Allianz Stadium. We were playing against Bologna: Pirlo gave me that quick assist in the penalty area... It was unforgettable for me. I still remember it all clearly and it's a feeling I'll always carry with me.”

The first goal, as mentioned, was in September 2011 against Bologna at the Allianz Stadium, and showcased the understanding between football geniuses. He scored 26 goals in his three years at Juventus, to which he also added 21 assists: a sign that Mirko was a complete striker dedicated to the cause.

“Yes, it's true, I also made several assists, but as a striker, as the number 9 that I was, I always preferred the goal to the winning assist. But it was also very satisfying to put my teammates in the best position to score.”

As for trophies, Vucinic and his teammates won five in three years: three consecutive Italian championships and two Italian Super Cups (won in 2012 thanks to one of his goals).

“I won my first Scudetto in these colours after many years in Italy, a joy and satisfaction that I will carry with me forever. Everyone at Juventus had been waiting for that success for some time and when it arrived, on that memorable evening in Trieste, we all enjoyed it together after a great season.”
