According to ExpressAndStar.com, uncertainty over Leicester City's appeal against a points deduction could yet shape the Championship relegation battle and West Brom's approach to the run-in.

Draws with Wrexham and Blackburn over the Bank Holiday left Albion four points clear of the bottom three, the same margin as last week.

Oxford and Leicester occupy the final two relegation places, with the Foxes there only because of that six-point penalty.

Leicester were docked points earlier this year for profit and sustainability breaches committed in the Premier League. The club have appealed, arguing the EFL should not impose a sanction on behalf of the top flight. The Premier League has also lodged an appeal and is pursuing further punishment over late accounts.

No decision date has been set, leaving Leicester and their relegation rivals waiting to learn whether the penalty is reduced, increased or upheld. With only five games left, the ruling could prove pivotal to how clubs approach their final fixtures.
