Leicester City should pounce on Largie Ramazani from Leeds United. He could be an ideal replacement for Bilal El Khannouss.
With just a couple of weeks of the summer transfer window to go, Leicester City supporters will already be panicking as they start the Championship season slowly and prepare for what could be a busy end to the market.
Leicester, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, were delayed in the sacking of Ruud van Nistelrooy and the appointment of former Queens Park Rangers boss Marti Cifuentes, amid concerns of a possible points deduction from the EFL this season.
The Foxes have endured a very quiet and slow summer transfer window with only veteran goalkeeper Asmir Begovic arriving at the King Power Stadium, despite the sales of some experienced players such as Mads Hermansen, Conor Coady and Wilfred Ndidi to West Ham United, Wrexham and Besiktas respectively.
Interest remains in James Justin, whilst it would be no surprise to see other players such as Harry Winks and Abdul Fatawu also depart the club this summer.
However, arguably their biggest probable sale of the window will be Morocco international attacking midfielder Bilal El Khannouss, who is the reported subject of interest from FA Cup winners Crystal Palace.
Should El Khannouss indeed depart the King Power this summer, which appears to be what is expected, then the Foxes will have to replace is ingenuity and creativity in the final third, and they should take advantage of Leeds United overlooking Largie Ramazani to do so.
Last summer, as Daniel Farke built a squad that would eventually achieve over 100 points and win the second-tier title, the Whites brought in former Belgium youth international Largie Ramazani from Spanish second-tier side Almeria for an undisclosed fee.
The 24-year-old winger, who came through the academies of Anderlecht, Charlton Athletic and Manchester United, showed some signs of quality at Elland Road last season, but was never really overly fancied by Farke with Leeds often preferring to have the likes of Daniel James, Willy Gnonto and Manor Solomon in their eleven from wide positions.
Ramazani has undoubted quality, though, and would provide a desperately required creative spark to a Leicester side already devoid of imagination, and one that is perhaps set to lose their best attacker in that regard.
Ramazani has become something of a forgotten man at Leeds, with the newly-promoted Yorkshire outfit going on a spending spree, which should soon bring in yet another attacker in the form of Switzerland international Noah Okafor.
That is only likely to push Ramazani further down the pecking order at Elland Road, after he was an unused substitute in their opening day defeat of Everton, and Leicester should profit from that by taking advantage and bringing him in before the deadline.
He is certainly more of an out and out winger than El Khannouss, but El Khannouss did often play out wide on the left, Ramazani’s preferred position, whilst Ramazani seemingly has the technical ability to create and control from a more central role.
In their opening match, Leicester had to come from behind to defeat crisis club Sheffield Wednesday, with centre-back Faes seemingly giving it back to supporters who had been critical of their lethargic performance.
Since that result, Leicester have suffered a penalty shootout defeat to League One side Huddersfield Town in the first round of the EFL Cup, before a 2-1 loss to Preston North End at Deepdale.
It could well be that there is a lot of movement at Leicester this summer, with several players seemingly heading for the exit, but if they are to mount a promotion challenge, the bare minimum expectation, then players will have to come in.
Identifying players of requisite quality yet ready to drop to the Championship is tough, but Ramazani, with more game time likely guaranteed, is someone who could be a major point of difference, and provide a creative spark of quality that is so desperately required by Marti Cifuentes and his side.
