Leicester have been relegated to League One, 10 years after winning the Premier League.
On Tuesday night they drew 2-2 at home to Hull City, despite substitute appearances by former Ligue 1 players Jordan Ayew and Stephy Mavididi. L'Équipe reports the slump is now official.
With 42 points and two matches left, Leicester can no longer catch Blackburn Rovers on 49, the first side outside the drop zone.
They will play League One for only the second time, their previous season there came in 2007-08. They join bottom club Sheffield Wednesday, relegated in February after an 18-point deduction.
A six-point penalty for historical financial breaches has weighed heavily on their campaign.
The days of unsettling the elite feel distant. Leicester won the Premier League in 2016, reached the Champions League quarter-finals in 2017 and lifted the FA Cup in 2021 by beating Chelsea 1-0.
