RB Leipzig want a guaranteed fee of €75m plus add-ons and a sell-on clause to sell Benjamin Sesko this summer.
Manchester United and Newcastle are both interested in signing the Slovenia international, with the former this week sending a delegation to Germany to discuss a deal.
Both sides have made Sesko their top target at centre-forward, with Newcastle viewing the 22-year-old as a potential replacement for the wantaway Alexander Isak.
However, Leipzig are demanding a huge fee for Sesko. The Athletic have confirmed that the German side want a guaranteed sum of €75m (£64.8m). In addition. Leipzig also want add-ons and a future sell-on clause.
Manchester United are prioritising a move for Sesko, having also explored the cost of deals for Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins and Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson. Villa have informed the Red Devils that Watkins is not for sale this summer. A move for Jackson was ruled out due to Chelsea’s valuation of the player.
Sales are likely to be required for United to finance a deal. Ruben Amorim’s side have committed to more than £130m on the signings of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo already this summer.
Suitors are being sought for a host of unwanted assets. Antony, Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho are all free to leave as the club look to raise transfer funds for Sesko.
The latter has scored 39 goals in 87 games for Leipzig and has been a long-term target for Manchester United. The club explored a potential move for Sesko prior to his move to Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg.
