According to Sky Germany, Leipzig want to keep David Raum beyond 2027 with a long-term extension, despite a tightened salary framework.
He is expected to be offered a new deal soon. The 27-year-old joined in 2022 and has been a regular starter.
There are no negotiations under way at present. He has made 32 appearances this season, providing a combined 11 goals and assists.
His release clause is set to drop below €40 million. However, any extension is currently hampered by Leipzig’s new salary structure.
Marcel Schäfer’s policy caps base salaries at €5 million, with performance-related bonuses providing additional income. It remains to be seen whether Leipzig make a financial exception for Raum or agree a different structure.
