Lens confirm signing of Polish defender Maik Nawrocki from Celtic

RC Lens confirmed on Friday the signing of Polish centre-back Maik Nawrocki, 25, from Celtic Glasgow on a four-year deal.

The fee is €2.5m, with the defender still under contract at Celtic until 2028 but not in Martin O'Neill's plans.

The 1.90m right-footer impressed on loan at Hannover in Bundesliga 2 last season, playing 17 matches and producing three goals and three assists.

The move continues Lens' Polish pathway, arriving only days after they recruited his compatriot Michal Skoras. He has no relation to Polish president Karol Nawrocki.

Another defensive addition could follow quickly, with the Curaçao defender Armando Obispo close to a four-year switch from PSV Eindhoven for €4m plus bonuses.
