Léo Ortiz posted a gym photo on Saturday that challenged claims he was overweight, ahead of Flamengo facing Fluminense in the Campeonato Carioca final.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the centre-back had been singled out during a poor run, with some supporters suggesting he was carrying extra weight. The new image showed a defined physique, prompting surprise, apologies and sarcasm among fans.

Ortiz appeared alongside his wife, Maitê Lo, in a gym setting. Shirtless, he flexed his left biceps, with his abdominal definition clearly visible.

It is not the first time he has faced abuse over a supposed weight issue. He was once active on X, formerly Twitter, but deactivated his account in 2025 after the comments.

This year there have been rumours of Flamengo supporters approaching delivery riders entering the defender’s condominium, seeking to verify his eating habits.

With Léo Ortiz available, Flamengo and Fluminense meet this Sunday, 8, from 18:00 Brasília time, in a single-match final. If the game is level in normal time, the trophy will be settled on penalties.
