Léo Pereira has celebrated his first Brazil call-up, calling it an honour to represent his country after establishing himself as a key figure at Flamengo. The player said in a post that the achievement fulfilled a dream shared with his family and those who support his career.

He thanked Flamengo, club staff and team-mates, described his colleagues as a second family, and addressed the club’s fanbase. He also referenced his faith and said he would keep following God’s plans.

Brazil will face France and Croatia in friendlies on 26 and 31 March. This squad is the last before the final list for the 2026 World Cup.

The 30-year-old previously represented Brazil at under-17 and under-20 level. Within Flamengo’s title-winning side last year, he had been the only first-choice defender yet to receive a call-up.

Danilo and Alex Sandro have also been called up by Ancelotti.
