Leonardo Jardim has been registered on the CBF’s BID, clearing him to take charge of Flamengo in Sunday’s Carioca final against Fluminense at the Maracanã.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the Portuguese has been confirmed as Flamengo’s new head coach after Filipe Luís’s dismissal, signing a two-season deal through December 2027.

Jardim led his first training session on Wednesday, before the official announcement. At the training ground he held a quiet conversation with Gonzalo Plata and praised the team’s movement during the workout.

Before his debut, he will oversee four days of work with the squad, from Wednesday to Saturday, to familiarise himself with the players and introduce his ideas.

The final kicks off at 18:00 Brasília time on Sunday and will be broadcast live on Rede Globo.
