Leonardo Jardim offered upbeat first impressions of Flamengo, highlighting player attitude and immediate priorities.

According to Coluna Do Fla, he was introduced on Thursday at Ninho do Urubu after a morning session and said he took the job as soon as terms were settled, with important fixtures looming this weekend.

He praised the club's facilities at the Ninho training centre and said the conditions are in place to build on past work, be a dominant team and challenge for trophies in every competition.

Flamengo have the leading squad in South American football, bringing together players from different continents. The team won the biggest titles they contested last season, with Filipe Luís's work also cited.

Jardim was announced on Wednesday after Filipe Luís was dismissed in the early hours of Tuesday. He has already led training with an eye on the next final of the season.

Flamengo now focus on the Campeonato Carioca final against Fluminense on Sunday at 18:00 Brasília time at the Maracanã, a single match.
