Reigning Serie A champions Napoli are appearing increasingly close to losing Leonardo Spinazzola in the summer.
The defender’s contract in Naples runs out at the end of the campaign. His entourage has already tried to offer him around, with Milan not really keen. It was believed Juventus are also in the race and would much more likely candidates.
Umberto Chiariello – via AreaNapoli, has reported that the full-back has made excessive demands to renew. He has asked for a two-year deal at €4 million per season. This has left Napoli stumped and they feel this is too much for someone who is over 30.
Napoli generally pay that much to younger players, which means Spinazzola is increasingly likely to leave in the summer. It would be an honourable farewell, with the Italian having done quite well this season.
This should place Juve in the driving seat, with Giorgio Chiellini said to have an excellent relationship with his entourage.
