The Blues once again dropped points at home as they were held to a 1-1 draw by the Clarets, as Zian Flemming headed home a stoppage time equaliser.

It started so well with Joao Pedro giving the Blues the lead in the fourth minute, but the Blues simply couldn’t push on and became complacent.

Despite not being at their best, Chelsea were still in control of the game until Wesley Fofana got sent off with just under 20 minutes remaining.

That gave Burnley confidence, but they still didn’t offer much threat, and it was once again Chelsea being the architects of their own downfall.

Rosenior went defensive with his substitutions in an attempt to see the game out, but despite having extra defenders on the Blues still failed to mark Flemming from a corner.

After the game Rosenior admitted one player didn’t mark the right man, and he expressed frustration at Chelsea’s poor defending of set pieces.

“We need to have players who you can rely on in the moment to do their job,” he told his post match press conference.

“Set plays are massive in the Premier League, they’re so important.

“Our record this season, defending set plays, is not to the level which is required for us to achieve what we want to achieve and that’s something I need to address.”

Joao Pedro on Chelsea’s game management

Chelsea have now dropped 19 points from winning positions this season, and if the Blues want to qualify for Champions League football that’s got to improve.

It was the second consecutive home game points were dropped from a winning position, and Pedro has admitted Chelsea’s game management has got to improve.

However, it’s all very well saying that, but the evidence is clear the Blues aren’t learning as the same mistakes are happening over and over again.
