Ligue 1 Predictions, Round 29
GFFN editor-in-chief Luke Entwistle, and sub-editors Raphaël Jucobin and Bastien Cheval face off in our Ligue 1 predictions competition. This season, GFFN will also be hosting guests. Earlier this season, The Athletic’s Alex Barker participated and became the first name on our guest leaderboard, and he has since been joined by Julien Laurens. It’s three points for a correct score, two points for a correct score difference, and one point for a correct result. Who will come out on top at the end of the season?
SCORES
Raphaël: 175
Luke: 162
Bastien: 199
Guest leaderboard:
Alex Barker: 7
Julien Laurens: 7
In a gameweek in which Paris Saint-Germain and RC Lens do not feature, eyes will be diverted towards the battle at the bottom and a potentially fatal game. With just six games remaining, AJ Auxerre will host FC Nantes. The latter are second from bottom, five points behind the former, who occupy the relegation playoff spot. Christophe Pélissier’s side are a further four points back from OGC Nice and safety. A win for L’AJA will pile the pressure on and, simultaneously, also certainly consign Les Canaris to the drop.
Nantes have just one league win since 4th January, but Auxerre aren’t exactly in hot form either, having won only twice themselves in the league in 2026. However, home advantage could be telling. L’AJA are stronger at home and Nantes will come here with a sense of desperation. It could leave spaces to exploit for an Auxerre side that are best on the counter.
