Lijnders hails Man City’s growth after thrashing Liverpool | OneFootball

Man City assistant boss Pep Lijnders praised the squad’s senior players for helping the team to grow, following their 4-0 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup.

An Erling Haaland hat-trick and goal from Antoine Semenyo saw City reach another FA Cup semi final, and Lijnders says he is seeing huge growth from the group as the season approaches its critical stage.

“The main thing is that our senior players, they own it,” he said. “They own the responsibility of the group and then good things grow.

“Bernardo, Rodri, Ruben, Erling, the guys who are here for long, they continue that mentality to see each next game as a final.

“The young players will grow with the senior players and they reach certain standards.”
