Lille draw Aston Villa in Europa League last 16, Lyon land Celta Vigo | OneFootball

Lille have been drawn to face Aston Villa in the Europa League last 16, while Lyon will meet RC Celta Vigo. According to Get French Football News, the draw took place at UEFA's Nyon headquarters today.

Lille booked their place via a gutsy away win at Red Star Belgrade in the playoff round last night, courtesy of goals from Olivier Giroud and Nathan Ngoy.

Lille could have been paired with Ligue 1 rivals Lyon, who topped the standings in the opening phase. Instead they will play second-placed Aston Villa, so the return leg will be at Villa Park.

If Lille get past Unai Emery's Premier League side, they would face Serie A opposition in the quarter-finals, either Bologna or AS Roma.

Lyon's tie against Celta will be played over two legs. Should Paulo Fonseca's team advance, they would meet Genk or Feriburg in the last eight.
